Individual hiring

Post a gig as yourself

List shifts, one-off tasks, or project work under your personal account. Neighbors see who posted and can respond with interest.

You need an account to publish and manage gigs.

Open the gig composer

Start a new listing with category, tags, budget, schedule, and location. You can also arrive here from Post a gig in the header.

Choose “Posting as: Yourself”

In the composer header, leave the business dropdown on yourself so the gig shows under your name.

Publish and iterate

Submit when ready. You can pause, edit, or close the listing later from your posts.

Review interest and coordinate

Open your gig to read messages, confirm details, and work toward completion with applicants.

Business hiring

Post a gig as a business

Create a business profile so listings show your company name and context. Team members with access can help manage posts without everything living in one inbox.

Add or manage your business

Create the brand profile, location context, and roles for people who post on behalf of the company.

Open the composer and pick your brand

Use Posting as to select the business. Applicants see the business name and verification context on the listing.

Optional: deep link with business id

Append ?businessId= and your company id to /gigs/new so the composer opens with that brand pre-selected (ids appear in your business workspace).

Operate alongside personal posts

Switch between yourself and any business you belong to from the same composer control.

More context for teams

If you are evaluating LocalGigs for a storefront or crew, the hiring overview for businesses summarizes the same flow in one place.

Find work & applicants

Find gigs and express interest

Explore ties listings to real geography: pan the map, filter by category, then open roles that fit your schedule and skills.

Browse Explore

Use the map and list together to discover open gigs near an address or neighborhood you care about.

Tune filters

Narrow by category, gig versus individual versus business pins, and other controls available on the page.

Open a gig and read the brief

Check scope, timing, pay expectations, and poster context before you respond.

Express interest

Send a short note from the gig page so the poster can compare applicants fairly.

Stronger trust signals

Verification badges help posters hire with confidence. Learn costs and steps before you apply.

Individuals hiring help

If you mainly hire as a person rather than a brand, the individuals hiring page collects the same ideas in one narrative.

Businesses sourcing

Explore as a business

The same map surfaces gigs, individual profiles, and businesses. Your team can browse locally, then reach out with inquiries where the product supports sending as your brand.

Open Explore with your team context

Use pins and detail panels to compare nearby gigs, people offering services, and other businesses.

Send inquiries when available

From a profile or listing, start a structured message. If you belong to a business, choose whether to send as yourself or as the company when that option appears.

Keep brands organized

Maintain business profiles and roles so the right people can follow up without sharing one login.

Individuals offering services

Profile, skills, and visibility

Your profile is where neighbors land when they want context beyond a single application. Keep it current so bookings and inquiries match what you actually offer.

Edit your profile

Describe services, availability signals, and proof of work so posters recognize you faster.

Show up on Explore

Turn on Open to work on your profile, choose categories that match what you want, and set your open-to-work location. Explore uses those signals to place your pin when neighbors browse the map; leaving it off means you may not appear in provider results.

Verification

Optional verification highlights commitment and appears alongside eligible profiles and listings.

Businesses offering services

Represent your business on the marketplace

Service businesses can present structured offerings so neighbors compare options with clearer intent than a scattered social post.

Complete the business profile

Add services, locations, and branding so searches nearby surface your company accurately.

Turn on Open to inquiries

In each business workspace (Manage → Services), enable Open to inquiries and pick the categories you want to be discovered for. Businesses without this on typically do not appear when locals browse service providers on Explore.

Respond from the brand

When inquiries or gigs align with your team, use business-backed actions where the product allows posting or messaging as the company.

Cross-check hiring flows

Many teams both hire and deliver services. Pair this section with posting gigs as a business when you recruit.

Tools

AI assistant

When your account is eligible, the assistant helps you draft gig copy, tighten scope, and explore what to search or post next. It opens from the chat icon in the header on larger screens and from entry points across the product.

Sign in and check eligibility

Platform policy and account rules apply. If the icon is hidden, complete signup or verification steps shown in product messaging.

Open the assistant

Use the header chat entry point after sign-in. On mobile, open the main menu if you do not see the icon in the top bar.

Deep link from any page

Append search params to open the same global assistant after navigation. Remove the params after load if you bookmark a link.

Start with a prompt (optional)

You can open a fresh thread with an encoded first message using the assistantMessage parameter alongside assistant.

Trust and verification

Optional verification adds badges on profiles, gigs, and Explore.
